The Sam Levenson show will be heard on radio this fall over CBS and all those people who don't have television tele-vision are in for a treat cause Sam SHORE is a new kind of comedian one that provides heart-warming chuckles rather than raucous guffaws . . . Both NBC and CBS are wooing Dinah Shore for TV and the lady is weighing each offer. Radio will miss ,"Baby Snooks" and her creator, Fanny Briee, who died at the age of 59 ... It doesn't seem possible to several generations of fans that Snooks is actually gone ... As with most ( show people, Fanny waited until too late to "take it easy" ... A work-horse all her life, she had said just a month ago that she was beginning to feel her age and thought she would slow down and enjoy life more . . . But it was already al-ready later than she thought . . . Here's hoping that no one will try to carry on the character she created. COLUMBIA: A new album entitled en-titled "Night in Manhattan", should cause plenty of excitement . . . With an all-star cast of Lee Wiley, Bobby Hackett and Joe Bushkin singing such top favorites as "I've Got a Crush on You", "A Ghost of a Chance", "Sugar", "Street of Dreams", "Manhattan" and "A Woman's Intuition" how can one go wrong? |
