Show Springville Scout Gets International Staff Appointment for Jamboree A. . Gets Appointment . . . Boyd M. Hunter, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hunter, Brookside Drive has been appointed by the National Nation-al Headquarters Boy Scouts of America to serve as a member of the staff of the International Boy Scout Jamboree to be held this summer in Bad Ischl, Austria. He will work with Ray H. Bryon,, director di-rector of Physical facilities of the Boy Scouts of America delegation at the Jamboree. Boyd will be at Bad Ischl from about July 15 to August 15. He will help lay out and set up camp sites for the United States contigent, prepare the general gen-eral headquarters area, preliminary prelimin-ary work on the entrance gate and all other physical arrangements necessary for the preparation of the camp before the actual Jamboree Jam-boree starts. He will be attached to the headquarters area and will be rubbing shoulders and be personally per-sonally associated with some of the greatest scouters in the world. Boyd also had an opportunity to go to the Jambree as the Leader of the contingent of Scouts from the occupied zone of Germany but gave it up in favor of this appointment. appoint-ment. Boyd is at present in Germany Ger-many on a mission for the LDS , church and has been assigned to do Scout work in that mission. Before leaving on his mission, Boyd was and still is registered as a member of Explorer Post 2066, Springville. He is an Eagle Scout, an Explorer Ranger Scout and also holds the Deseret Recognition award from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. - |
