Show W. W. CLYDE IS PUSHED FOR STATESENATOR j Interest in the contest for the. two state senator nominations on the Utah county Democratic ticket heightened Saturday with the entry of W.W. Clyde, Spring-ville Spring-ville contractor into the race. He is the fifth candidate for whom ,a petition of nomination has been filed. CLYDE of Springville, torn October 27, 1889, and comes of Utah pioneer stock. He was educated in the Springville Spring-ville city schools and graduated from the University of Utah, State School of Mines, in 1913. He practiced engineering for ten years, two of which were served with the Knight Investment cora pany and eight years as mining and electrical engineer for the Spring Canyon Coal company. At the present time he is engaged in engineering construction work in the intermountain states. He is engaged in farming and is also interested in other business enterprises enter-prises in this locality. He has served as a member of the Springville city council. He has been a member of the Democratic Demo-cratic party all of his life and is classed as a conservative Democrat Demo-crat who voted for President Roosevelt. He has been a staunch supporter for the administration of Governor Henry H. Blood. He is a member of the Utah State Institute of Fine Arts. He is vice president of the intermountain inter-mountain branch of the Associated Associ-ated General Contractors of American, and is a member of the National Association of General Contractors. He is also an active member of the Springville Kiwanis Ki-wanis club, chairman of its public affairs committee. |
