Show 4-H CLUB PLANS TAKE SHAPE Miss Dorothy Stewart, county home demonstrator, was in Springville Spring-ville Wednesday, in the interest of 4-H club organization work. She anticipates a successful year for club members here this summer, sum-mer, and invites the girls of th , community between the ages of 12 and 20 to enroll immediately for the work. Mrs. S. Verl Jones has been appointed supervisor of the clubs in Springville and all girls who, desire to participate in 4-H club work this summer are asked to register at Mrs. Jones's home, 60 South Second East street, or go to the Jones Jewelry store and receive re-ceive a registration card, before May 4. There is no charge for thn 4-H course, Miss Stewart pointed out, pnd much is to be "-ainnc Dv members. mem-bers. Last year $1800 came into Utah county 4-H clubs as award money in the form of trips, scholarships schol-arships and prizes. A similar amount will undoubtedly be distributed dis-tributed this season and the 4-H girls in this community should receive their share, Miss Stewart said. The various clubs will at the close of the season participate in fairs and exhibits of various types in addition to the valuable training which thev receive during the summer sum-mer months. There are also three outings during the season, which add to the social phase of club activities. The leaders, about 15 in number have already been selected by Mrs. Jones and these ladies arc ready to begin class work as soon as school closes. There will also be an advanced class for girls of 16 to 22 years who desire to follow a particular nrntrram. This class will be known as home science and the girls may outline their own program if they so desire. The cooperation of the parents par-ents of the community is invited in the 4-H project work to help make it a success in this city, -t |
