Show Local Club Pleases i Kiwanians of State At Large Art Meet school district and Clarence Ash-worth, Ash-worth, architect. At the close of the program the group was taken on a tour of the art galleries and the pictures were explained and a general talk oh art and what it means was given by V. O. Hafen. Attendance prizes for the evening, eve-ning, consisting of oil paintings, were awarded to Mrs. Minnie Nebeker of Ogden and to Allen i Johnson of Provo. The phase of I the program was under the d'.rec- tion of the club secretary, Harri- son Conover. I Among the successful meetings held here in connection with the annual national art exhibit was the all state Kiwanis art luncheon lunch-eon and program held last Thursday Thurs-day evening at the high school gallery. Approximately 300 visitors visit-ors were in attendance. J. F. Wingate, Win-gate, secretary of the art board acted as toastmaster during the evening with President MUton Harrison as master of ceremonies. The enterLainment began with a buffet luncheon served between 6:30 and 7:30 p. m., with the many visitors from all parts of the state enjoying a real social time. Later in the evening. Mr. Wingate introduced Jesse EUert-son EUert-son of Provo, governor of the Utah-Idaho Kiwanis district, as the guest speaker. He discussed the cultural influence of art upon youth and complimented the citizens citi-zens of the city on the erection of the new art building. Mrs. F. C. Packard entertained with vocal solos and Miss Hazel Anderson gave violin selections. Mrs. Mary Bird was accompanist. During the program four men were introduced as being instrumental instru-mental in the building of the new art gallery. Mayor George A. Ande-son, representing the city; Princ:pal W. W.
