Show John Haf en Art Drama Is Outstanding As Major Art Feature Springville scored another success suc-cess in the realm of art with the presentation last week, of the art drama, "John Hafen". Comments from the many out-of-town visitors visit-ors at the presentation of the drama, were especially favorable and their appreciation was expressed ex-pressed in various ways to the cast as well as to the stake M.I. In commenting on the fine per- ; formance it would be difficult to determine on which phase of the drama to give special mention so fine was the performance as a whole. From the rise of the curtain cur-tain for the prologue, to the fall of the curtain on the last act, the audience enjoyed an entertainment distinctive in every detail. The fine character impersonation ; portrayed by Howard McKenzie j as John Hafen, won an appreciative apprecia-tive applause, as did that of Mrs. Jessie Dalton in the part of Mrs. Hafen. An interested enthusiasm was shown in fact by every member mem-ber of the cast, all of whom had worked hard to make the entertainment enter-tainment a success. Music in the drama was especially fine and received re-ceived much favorable comment from the large audiences. A report of the drama presentation presenta-tion would not be complete without with-out special mention to the costumes, cos-tumes, which were among the most elaborate and appropriate of any seen in an entertainment of the kind here, and to the beautiful lighting effects. The drama gave everyone an opporunity to see the disappoint-meirts disappoint-meirts and hardships of -the noted iirtist, John Hafen, whose memory ivill always be revered in this community, com-munity, as the man to whom we owe much for the art achievement of today. |
