Hall in this city. announcement Is made of the marriage of Josephine Wheeler o Maplelon to George Albert Greer of Orem, which took place the past week. Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Miner of this city announce the engagement engage-ment of their daughter, Marian to D G. Wright of Salt Lake City son of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Wright of Sugar City, Idaho. The marriage mar-riage will take place on January 24 The bride-to-be is a graduate of the Springville high school and a former student of the Brigham Young university and the L.D.fa. business college. Mr.. Wright is a former student of Rick's Junior college in Rexberg, Ida., and is at present a student of the University Uni-versity of Utah. Mrs. Thelma Clark was hostess to members of the Old Friends club at her home Wednesday night. Following a delicious luncheon, lunch-eon, progressive 500 was enjoyed with high score prize going to Mrs. Muriel Robertson and the consolation to Mrs. Vanza Mann. Mrs. Maude Curtis attended as a special guest. A delightful time was spent at a quilting given by Mrs. A. W. Cherrington at her home Thursday. Thurs-day. At noon a delicious dinner was served with covers laid for Mrs. John Blanchard, Mrs. Mon-erva Mon-erva Weight, Mrs. Mae Bird, Mrs. ! Gene Pierce, Mrj. Frank Sanford, Mrs. Mabel Law, Mrs. Ella Peterson Pet-erson and Mrs. Bell Childs. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hall of Lorenzo, Ida., have returned to their homes after several days Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lasson and family were recent visitors in Fairview at the home of Mr. Las-son's Las-son's parents. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Thorn had as their Sunday dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Lasson and Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Livingston and families, the latter being from Spanish Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thorn returned re-turned recently from an enjoyable enjoy-able two-weeks' trip to California. Mrs. A. Y. Wheeler and Mrs. Hattie Blackett of this city recently re-cently returned from a two weeks' visit with relatives and friends in California. Home Culture club members were delightfully entertained Friday Fri-day afternoon at the home of President Ada Barron. The program pro-gram featured an interesting talk by Mrs. J. F. Wingate on "Poetry of England, Ireland and Canada," and a paper by Mrs.. Howard Thorpe on "The Poems Which Interpret America." Mrs. W. H. Anderson, vice president of the club was in charge of the meeting meet-ing at the close of which luncheon lunch-eon was served to nineteen members mem-bers and three guests. Members of the Ladies' Literary club and their partners were delightfully de-lightfully entertained Monday night at a party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Christensen. Mrs. Nelson Beal was assisting hostess. Early in the evening a tasty luncheon was served at small tables eac?h of which was centered with sweet peas. Later progressive bridge was played with prizes for the games being won by Paul Thorn and Will Brown. In attendance attend-ance were Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Crandall, Mr. and Mrs. G. Lowry Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Groesbeck, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Thorn, Mr. and Mrs. V. C. Men-denhall, Men-denhall, Mr. and Mis. F. C. Packard, Pack-ard, Mr. and Mrs. Christensen, Dr. and Mrs. Beal. Mr. and Mrs. Will Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Clyde, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Biockbank, and Dr. and Mrs. G. G. Neill, the latter three couples being special guests. Mrs. H. T. Reynolds entertained at her home Saturday afternoon for members of the Alpha Beta club. An enjoyqable program was given with a review of the book, "The First Lady," given by Mrs. Sterling Ercanbrack of Provo and vocal selections by Mrs. Herald Clark, accompanied by Mrs. El-lertson El-lertson also of Provo. Nana Lee Reynolds also entertained with readings. Luncheon was served at the close of the meeting to a large attendance of members. Miss Jeanne Neill spent the week end in Salt Lake City with relatives and friends. Members of the Busy Finger club will be entertained Thursday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. Arvil Bird. All members are urged to be present. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Beardall entertained a number of friends at a party at their home Thursday Thurs-day evening. Games were enjoyed together with a midnight lunch. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. James Graves, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Maur-ice Dallin, Mr. and Mrs. Elden Singleton, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Mason, Mr. and Mrs. A. E.
