Show SERVICES FOR E, SINGLETON HELD FRIDAY Impressive and well - attended services were conducted in. the Third ward chapel, Friday afternoon, after-noon, for Mrs. Eliza Mower Singleton, Sin-gleton, well-known pioneer of this city, who died last Tuesday at her home of ailments incident to Her age. Bishop William Witney had the services in charge. Speakers during the afternoon, each of whom paid splendid tribute trib-ute to the life and character of Msr. Singleton, were. Peter Kiel-son, Kiel-son, former Third ward bishop, J. B. Sumsion and Bishop Witney. A tribute in the form of a life history was given by a granddaughter, grand-daughter, Mae Hodson. Music during the services was given as follows: Ralph B. Weight and Will Parry, an instrumental duet, "O My Father;" vocal solo, Hannah Rowland, "O May My Wants Be Close to God;" vocal duets, "I Know That My Redeemer Redeem-er Lives," and "Jesus My Savior," by Mrs. Marjorie Bird and Mrs. Erma Brailsford. The invocation was given by Willis K. Johnson Jr., and the benediction by James E. Straw. William Mower dedicated the grave at the Evergreen cemetery. |
