Show BARKER HOME DESTROYED BY FIRE THURS, A home, barn and granary, belonging be-longing to Mrs. John Barker on the highway south of this city, was practically demolished by fire last Thursday afternoon. A strong wind swept the blaze which began on the north side of the barn, to the granary and then to the house, before firemen reached the scene. The fire had a good start before being detected. The five department succeeded in saving a garage, undei-whieh was a fruit room, also some furniture and clothing from the home. Damage was estimated at approximately ap-proximately $1500 with little or no insurance according to Fire Chief Roy Despain. |
