Show Utah-Juab Music Contest For High Schools To Be Held April 2 1,22 An estimated crowd of 5000 students stu-dents and other visitors are expected ex-pected to be in Spring-ville Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22, to attend the annual district music contests of junior and senior high schools of Utah and Juab counties. At least IS junior and senior high schools with an estimated group of 2000 students are expected to participate in the various contests. Principual W. W. Brockbank of the local high school, is general chairman of the two-day event. The contests are scheduled to begin at 8:15 a. m.. Friday and throughout the day contest events, principally in vocal divisions, will take place. Saturday will be filled with music events of various types including band and orchestra. Almost Al-most every combination of vocal and instrumental music will be heard during the two day festival. The contests will be held in the high school auditorium, in the junior high school building and in the art building. Climaxing the festival, seventeen seven-teen or eighteen bands representing represent-ing virtually every school in the district, will maneuver on Main street, between 4 and 6 p. nv, Saturday. Sat-urday. The two-day event is expected to be one of the biggest of its khut held in this city. Commander Yost of Fort Douglas, Doug-las, Salt Lake City, will be in attendance at-tendance to judge the band maneuvers. man-euvers. Dr. Gerrit de Jong and Robert Sauer of the Brigham Young university, Provo; Clair Johnson, music supervisor at the Weber Junior college, and Miss Margaret Summerhays of Salt lake Citv will be other judges of the music events.
