Show HIGH SCHOOL NOTES ; The dramatic art department of the Springville high school has chosen for its annual play "Square Crooks" a comedy-mystery play by James P. Judge. Tryouts were held Wednesday evening and the following fol-lowing cast selected: ' Eddie Ellison, LaCell Haymond; Kay, his wife, Hazel Anderson; Larry Scott, his friend, Robert Ly-all Ly-all ; Jane Brown, Larry's friend, Evelyn Miner; Bridget O'Rourke, the landlady. Coba Caffall; Mike Ross, a gunman, Reed Christensen; Timothy Hogan, a police sergeant, John Patrick; Harry Welch, a detective, de-tective, Jack Cherrington; John Clancy, his aide, Harry Zabriskie; Mrs. Phillip Carston, a society leader, lead-er, Gloria Friel; Sorrow, the maid, Gretchen Greenlee. The play will be presented the latter part of March. Bliss Crandall will represent; the Springville Future Farmers in the district oratorical contest - to be conducted in Provo Saturday. His subject is "Restoration of Economic Eco-nomic Stability." The district winner win-ner will enter the state contest in Salt Lake. In the contests conducted lust year, John Patrick of the local high school, succeeded in winning second sec-ond place in the state. |
