From the moment Rear Admiral Byrd and his intrepid band of explorers landed in the unknown region at the "bottom of the world," until they started the final trek for home, the life they lead, the sights they saw, the thrills they experienced exper-ienced are in this film for everybody every-body to wonder and marvel at. Byrd's race to the South Pole was a race against time, the terrific cold and the appalling terrors of the Antarctic winter. For seven weeks the adventurers waited while cloud and fog blanketed the sky.
