Tolhurat. former-mayor former-mayor of Payson and prominent in civic, school, and business affairs died Saturday in a Salt Lake hos-, of the south end of Utah county, pital. following a brief illness and an operation. He was born at Mold, Wales, February 12, 1SGS, and came to Utah as a small boy. Mr. Tolhurst had filled a cp-eal number of responsible positions during; his life. He has been president presi-dent of the Nebo school district for 13 years; was at one time presi--dent of the section of boards of education of Utah Education association; asso-ciation; ex-president of the Payson Lions club, and chairman of the old folks' committee of the Nebo 1 stake. j He was a pioneer in the flour ! milling; business of the state and proprietor of the Payson mills. He had lived in Payson for 21 years. Hi3 wife, Mrs. Helen Tolhurst, died a year ago following an automobile auto-mobile accident near Ontario, Ore. Surviving are two daughters. Miss Madeline Tolhurst and Miss Delsa Tolhurst ; a brother, William Wil-liam TI. Tolhurst, Spanish Foi k; and three sisters, Mrs. E. A. Law, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. F. I. Carlisle, Car-lisle, Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Henry Weggeland, Salt Lake. j |
