Show SPRINGVILLE MAY ASSIST I TIMP PROGRAM Many Utah communities will be asked to participate in the great program at the Theater of the Pines preceding the seventeeth annual timpanogos timp-anogos hike July 20 and 21. This decision was reached at : a meeting of the program committee Monday evening, when j a tentative program whs outlined. Details of the proguim, however, will not be announced until the committee has heard from the various vari-ous communities which have been asked to participate. Exceptional Prospects Communications from various organizations or-ganizations and individuals from all parts of the state indicate that the hike will attract more than ever. A letter from Jesse S. Richards secretary of the Ogden Chamber of Commerce, indicates that -Ogden will furuish. a large contingent of (overs of the great outdoors. , y. "We will do all we can to encourage encour-age a large group to go on the hike from Ggden, and we wish you succesa in this interesting event," Mr. Richard's letter reads. Prof. William F. Hanson ' will have charge of the community singing sing-ing at the Theater of the Pines on the evening of July 20, it was decided at last night's meeting. Salt Lake, Logan, Payson, Springville, Spring-ville, Spanish Fork and American. Fork will be asked to furnish special spec-ial numbers for the program. These contributions, together with those furnished by the Young university , and Provo, indicate an evening of genuine pleasure and entertain- i ment. I Conditions Are Ideal ! Conditions are said to be ideal I for the big hike, there being plenty of snow on the glacier to assure the hikers' thrills as they make the rapid decent over the frozen snow. The Provo Kiwanis club will perform per-form its usual good turn in building build-ing the pyre for the mammoth bonfire. bon-fire. The fire and the dance of the nymphs is an event that is looked forward to with great pleasure by those who make the annual pilgrimage pil-grimage to the lovely mountain retreat. |
