Rolfe entertained enter-tained Saturday evening of the past week in compliment to their daughter daugh-ter Zelpha, who was married Saturday. Sat-urday. Spring flowers1 were used in room decorations. Games, music and delicious refreshments were enjoyable en-joyable features of the evening. A large crowd of relatives and friends were present. A delightful birthday party was given Thursday evening when Mrs. Earl Phillips entertained a number of friends in honor of her daughter Faun, who was nine years old that day. Various competitive games were played, supervised by the hostess hos-tess and a dainty luncheon was served to ten guests. A number of pretty birthday gifts were received from the following guests: Emma Holley, Fern Aiken, Mary Jane Snow, Catherine Phillips, Dee Miller, Mil-ler, Blair Snow, Guy Strong, John Deal, Newell Lambson, Carl Bird. The members of the alumni boosters boost-ers club of Springville were pleasantly pleas-antly entertained Monday evening at the homo of Mrs. Gwen Cutler in Spanish Fork. Progressive "bunco" was the game played during the party, with Mrs. Blanch G. Hales receiving high score prize. A dainty luncheon was served in the late evening eve-ning at three small tables. Guests and members present included Miss Ruth Willis of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Florence DcGraw and Mrs. Smith of Spanish Fork, Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Miner, Miss Mildred Hoffman, Miss Virginia Packard, Miss Vera Packard, Mrs. Wealtha Mendenhall, Miss Florence Daley and Mrs. Carrie Car-rie Tripp of Springville. Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Dallin had as dinner guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Leon Rodgers. Mrs. Throssa Rodg-ers Rodg-ers and Miss Rosemnrie Garrett of Salt Lake. They were accompanied on their way home by Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Hollev. A motor trip to Hobble Creek canyon was enjoyed in the afternoon. Sweet peas were used as a centerpiece for the dining table, and covers were laid for eseven guests. Mrs. Minnie Dennison of this city was in attendance at the meeting of the A. of N. R. club, which was held at the home of Mrs. Ella Evans in Provo Friday. Games, music, sewing and dainty refreshments refresh-ments were enjoyable features of the party. A picnic lunch and fishing were enjoyed by the following friends who formed a party and motored to Hobble Creek canyon Sunday afternoon: after-noon: Mr. and Mrs. Lacelle Bird, Miss Erva Simpkins, and Mr. and I Mrs. George Nelson. A pleasant social evening "was spent Saturday when Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Lyall entertained the members mem-bers of the J. R. club of Springville and Provo at their home in this city. Progressive five hundred was played, with prizes for the game being be-ing awarded to Mrs. J. N. Crawford of Provo and Mrs. H. E. Urquhart of this city. In conclusion a dainty luncheon was served by the hostess to the following members: Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Crawford, Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Street, Mrs. R. B. Freadway. Flayd Hitchock of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Erie Borman and Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Urquhart of Springville. Mr. and Mrs. John Whiting entertained enter-tained at an informal dinner at their home Sunday in honor of their son Jessee and wife, who were recently re-cently married. Summer flowers were used as a centerpiece for the long dining table, around which covers cov-ers were laid for about fifteen members mem-bers of the immediate family and guests.
