Show CUB CAPTURED BY RANCHER Earl Lavanger, who lives at what is commonly known as the Palmer ranch in Diamond Fork canyon, is the proud owner of a five months' old brown cub bear, which he captured cap-tured Sunday morning after having hav-ing shot and killed its mother the previous day. Beats had caused considerable con-siderable trouble among the sheep of Mr. Lavanger's herd at the head of little Diamond creek canyon. Several months ago a large brown male bear was willed by Lavanger and Saturday the mother bear. The cub was captured Sunday morning so probably the family is extermin- aled. The hide of (he bears is of no value this time of year, but there is a ten dollar bounty for the killing kill-ing of them. Mr. Lavanger is taking tak-ing great interest in the club and it will already eat from his hand. He will probably sell it to some park that has a zoo unless he grows too fond of it. I |
