Show TRIBUTES PAID J. E. WILKINS Victim of Bullet Laid at Rest Amid Much Sorrow. -Many Present One of the largest funerals ever held in the Spanish Fork First ward was that of Joseph E. Wilkins, which was held Friday afternoon. Mr. Wilkins was the night watchman watch-man of the Spanish Fork Co-op who was murdered by burglars Tuesday night. A profusion of beautiful floral pieces showed the esteem in which the murdered man was held by his townsfolks and the many friends who were unable to gain admission ad-mission to the chapel. Bishop William C. Beckstrom was in cnargo ana made the closing remarks. re-marks. -Glowing tributes to the life and character of Mr. Wilkins were paid by Dr. George H. Brimhall, president-emeritus of the B. Y. U.; ; Bishop Henry Gardner, a life-long friend of the family; Postmaster David T. Lewis; former mayor Lars Neilsen, and David Roberts. The ward choir sang two opening and a closing number. Miss Ellen Jameson Jame-son and Arthur Briggs each sang a solo. Prayers were by William Mar-tell Mar-tell and Rawsell Bradford. A long cortege followed the bier to the city cemetery, where the grave was dedicated by Morris Kartell. |
