The "Book of Mormon" class of the First ward directed by Miss Florence Daley and Orman Weign enjoyed a swim and a "weinie roast" at Glengarry Wednesday evening. Those Included in the party were: Mary Hadley, Beth Taylor, Joy Fullmer, Louise Bramall, Eliza Hartman, Francis Bringhurst, Monta Fullmer, Max Senior, Max Beardall, Orin Beardall, Elvin Peterson, Pet-erson, Gordon Pierce, Sterling Noakcs and the instructors. j SOCIETY : o ; Prominent among .the aocial events of the past week was the miscellaneous shower given Thursday Thurs-day evening by Miss Aleen Bird at the home, of her parents Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Bird in compliment to Miss Josephine Meneral of Salt Lake formerly of Springville. Assisting As-sisting hostesses were Miss Virginia Vir-ginia Packard and Mrs. Blanch G. Hales. The entertaining rooms were prettily decorated with a profusion of early autumn flowers. Reynolds Rey-nolds Sr., Miss Virginia Whittaker, Mrs. Margaret W. Miner, Miss Tess Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Wall and sister of Venice, Utah, spent one day of the past week as guests of Arthur Condie in this city. Mr. Wall and Mr. Condie were missionary mission-ary friends in California. Mr. and Mrs. George DalHn have received word from their son Reed that he has been transferred from Wyoming to the U. P. station at Chappel, Nebr., where he expects to work some time as a telegraph operator. Arthur Eoyer with his sister, Mary Boyer and Miss Helen Fox motored to Richfield last Sunday and were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Buchanan, Garth Buchanan accompanied them to Springville where he will visit two weeks. j Mis Margaret Harward was pleas- j antly surprised Wednesday evening ; by a number of friends at the home of her sister Mrs. Lee Sumsion. I. A. president of the ward and is, now released to work as a M. I. A. stake president succeeding C. R. Jones. Games, led by Mrs. Nell Alleman, Mrs. Martha Harrison and Bertrund Harrison were played, play-ed, a musical program and readings were given and dancing was also enjoyed. In conclusion light refreshments refresh-ments were served to. about 55 friends present. .As a token of remembrance re-membrance and appreciation, the honor guests were presented with a book. Mrs. H.
