A pleasant evening was spent Saturday Sat-urday at the Maycock home when Miss Esther Maycock entertained at a waffle supper for a number of friends. The entertaining rooms were prettily decorated with roses of pink and white. The same flowers flow-ers also predominated in table decorations. dec-orations. Covers were laid for 12. The early evening was spent at the Rivoli theater and after supper a musical program and dancing were enjoyed. Reed Rigtrup, Willard Oslund, Milton Halbrook, Howard Law, Arthur Hughes, Ivan Hardy and I the hostess. Mrs. Delia Harris of Springville announces the marriage of her daughter Julie to Alton R. Snow son of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Snow of Provo, which took place, April 23 Mr. and Mrs. Snow will make their home in, Springville for the time being. Among the prominent social functions func-tions of the late week was the miscellaneous mis-cellaneous shower 'given Saturday evening by Miss Lois Blanchard and Miss Lucy Childs at the home A delightful party of the week was given Saturday evening when Mr. and Mrs. Ted Rowland entertained enter-tained at a shower in compliment to their son Reed and wife, who were recently married. Summer flowers in various shades decorated the entertaining rooms. A program pro-gram consisting of musical selections selec-tions by Miss Tess Hines; readings, Donna Salisbury; solo, Rulon Crandall, was given. A number of interesting games were played, and a dainty luncheon served by the hostess. Jnh nsnn of the latter in compliment to Miss Louise Cook a bride of this month. Various colored autumn flowers were used in room decorations and a number of games and music furnished fur-nished pleasant entertainment during dur-ing the evening. A dainty luncheon was served by the hostess to the following fol-lowing ladies present: Mrs. Mark Cook, Mrs. Will Huntington, Mrs. Christie Deal, Mrs. Anna S. Bird, Miss Aleen Bird, Mrs. Thelma Harmer, Mrs. Odessa Child, Mrs. Mattie Davis. Mrs. Martha Whiting, Mrs. John Blanchard. Mrs. Vera Anderson of Provo and the guest of honor. Miss Cook was the recipient recip-ient of many pretty and useful bridal gifts. Reed Rowland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Rowland of Springville and Audrey Lerwill of Payson were issued a marriage licence at Farm-ington Farm-ington Friday, August 31. The members of the S. T. club will be entertained next Thursday evening beginning at 8 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Harriet Neilson. Cards will be featured and all members mem-bers are asked to be. present. A program of games and music was carried out. and a dainty dain-ty luncheon was served by the hostess hos-tess to about twenty-five relatives and friends present. Many pretty gifts were received by the honor guest. The Bluebird girls of the Fourth ward Primary under the supervision supervis-ion of their instructors Mrs. Earl Phillips and Mrs. E. O. Hall hiked to Spring Canyon Friday evening where an enjoyable time was spent roasting wcinies, singing and playing games. Members of the class present were Misses Charlotte Hall, Thelma Larabv, Helen Aver-ett, Aver-ett, Ruth Parker, Naomi Maycock, lone Averett, Namoi Sumsion, Wilma Ridge, Rosemarie Heywood, Mary Whiting, Ardell Angus. Barbara Bar-bara Bradley and Eulala Condie. Miss Mabelle Wheeler was hostess .at a social for the girls of the Second Sec-ond ward Junior class at her home Friday evening. A short program, games and music were enjoyed. A dainty luncheon was served to the following members and guests: Miss Ha Stevenson, Miss Corene Robertson, Robert-son, Miss Virginia Simpkins. The occasion occa-sion is one to be remembered, as five of the grandmothers and two grandfathers of the child were present. They are: Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Jones, Mrs. Lydia Palfreyman, Palfrey-man, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Finley, Mrs. Mary Jane Hales, and Mrs Alice Jones, the latter three being great grandmothers. ' and Mrs. E. E. Late autumn flowers were employed in the decorative scheme throughout the entertaining rooms, as well as on the two long tables which were centered, one with pink asters, the other with her roses. Tapers corresponding in color with the centerpiece of the dining tables. Covers were laid for twenty-four guests. After dinner six tables of progressive bridge were arranged, with place cards for the following guests: Out-of-town, Mrs. Eiwood Nye of Washington, D.
