Show NEBO TEACHERS HOLD INSTITUTE The first institute of the IS'eho school district teachers for ll2K-29 was held Saturday at the Spanish Fork high school, with a full attendance at-tendance of teachers present. The first general session convened at 10 o'clock in the morning. F. J. Faux led in community singing, after which short addresses on educational education-al topics of the day were mode by Dean L. John Nuttall of the B. Y. U. of Provo, Professor Lofter Bjarn-son. Bjarn-son. supervisor of junior high school work; Mrs. William Reed, president presi-dent of the P. T. A. of Utah, and Professor J. Merrill of the Ogden high school. The afternoon session convened at 1:45. a short program consisting of musical numbers and readings was given, after which the teachers separated for departmental work. Professor J. Merrill of Ogden directed di-rected the high school teachers; Lofter Bjarnson the grammar grades, and Miss J. Iverson the pn-; mary supervisor of the district, the , primary grades. The teachers reassembled in gen- eral session at the close of the de- paremental work. Following a dis- j cussion it was resolved and carried t that all teachers of the dist rict join ; ,the National Teachers association. A reorganization was affected, of I the Nebo school district association. W. W. McAllister of the Junior high school was chosen president and Miss Lola Bradford of the same school vice president. The secretary secre-tary and executive committee of one member from each town, will be announced an-nounced later. The institute was very successful and instructive. . |
