' That the people of this state have confidence in Senator Smoot has been attested too often to be questioned at this late hour of public service. Regardless of political affiliations, regardless regard-less of how strongly they may disagree with his political views, the men and women of Utah know Senator Smoot to be a man after whom every mother's son may well pattern his habits. Whatever the motive of Senator Smith W. Brookhart and others, may be, the recent inferences relative to Senator Smoot are lesentcd by the. citizenry of Utah.
