They attended the funeral services for Mrs. Belva Sumsion. Mell Kelly left Monday for Jerome, Jer-ome, Arizona. His wife will join him in the near future. Mr,, and Mrs. Jess Whiteomb of Lehi were the Sunday dinner guests of .Mr. and -Mrs. A. IT. Roylance. They also attended Mrs. Sumsion's funeral Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. O. F. Burton of Salt Lake spent tbe week end in this city, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Thorpe. Mr. and Mrs. John Barker, and Mr. and Mrs. Jdseph Allen were the Sunday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Austin Houtz of Mapleton. Games, music and a delicious luncheon lunch-eon -were enjoyed by tbe guests. Mrs. Delia Bird, Mrs. Amanda Biaks,, Miss Florence Childs and Mrs. Lillian Thorpe entertained at a miscellaneus shower Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Thorpe, in honor of Mrs. Arthur Kearns, a recent bride. A number of games were played and delicious refreshments refresh-ments served to twenty guests. The bride recevied many pretty and useful use-ful gifts. Mrs. Walter Wheeler entertained at a delightful dinner partv t her home Monday. Covers were laid for the following guests : Mr. and Mrs. Dave Wheeler, Mr. nnd Mrs. A. IT. Childs. Mr. T. E.. Child, Mrs. Ella Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Wheeler and family. Joe Allen, William 'Witney, W. N. Grooms. Henry Weight, and J. F. Wimrate went to Salt lake lion-day lion-day evening to attend a fish and game meeting held there. Mrs. J. F Wingate and Mrs. Henry Weight also accompanied their husbands to Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Patients of Los Angeles were the Monday evening eve-ning guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Daley of this; city. Dr. and Mrs. Glen Neil were the honor guests at a surprise party given at their home Wednesday evening. The oceasioa being their wedding anniversary "they were presented pre-sented with a tea-pot. Progressive live hundred featured the evening's entertainment, with Charles Boyer winning high score prize. Dainty refreshments were served to the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Whittakcr. Huntington Hunt-ington have returned to their home in this city, after spending several weeks at Spring Canyon. Mr. Huntington Hunt-ington is recovering nicely from an attack of double pneumonia which he contracted while there. The members t of the First ward Relief Society held a special quilting quilt-ing and work meeting at the ward house Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Bailey's brother has been seriously ill but is improving now. Bishop and Mrs. II. B. Warnick and Mrs. Jessie R. Wadley of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove visited this week at the home of Bishop and Mrs. . Hilton Robertson. Mrs. C. F. Packard entertained the meniliers of the Home Culture cluli Friday afternoon at her home. The following program was given : Piano solo, Mrs. D. A. Smith. A paper entitled, "How to Develop a Taste for Good Books," by Mrs. Hugh Baxter. Mrs. V. S. Wilson gave a paper on "Boos to Buy and Books to Borrqw."
