Show SENATE PAYS TRIBUTE TO LATE LEROY DIXON -i...' The Utah state senate yesterday adopted a resolution jf tribute to the memory of Senator LeRoy Dixon of Provo who died last month, shortly after re-election to the upper house of the Utah legislature. President Alonzo B. Irvine appointed a committee con- '. sisting of Senators Clifford E. Young, John V. Peters, V. D. Caudland, E. R. Callister and Joseph T. Finlayson to draft the resolution. ( Expressions of condolence and sympathy to the senator s family were contained in the resolution, which paid tribute to his life of service, self-sacrifice and beneficence, and told of his distinction in community and legislative life. In conclusion con-clusion the resolution read : "Resolved, by the senate of the state of Utah, That in . the death of Senator Dixon, his state and this legislative body have not only lost an untiring and devoted worker and servant, ser-vant, but we, his associate.-, have lost a friend whose fellowship fellow-ship it was an honor and pleasure to enjoy ; that we bear willing testimony to his many fine traits of character and nobility of purpose; that we offer to his bereaved family, over whom sorrow has hung her mantle, our sincere and heartfelt sympathy, and express the hope that God, in His infinite mercy, may give speedy relief to their sad and heavy hearts, and inspire them with renewed hope for the future; and, be it further "Resolved That a copy of these resolutions, properly engrossed, en-grossed, be presented to the family of our esteemed friend and colleague." |
