Show LEBDINCHAM GIVES FIRST GRID GLIMPSE ( . With the first practice game of the football season scheduled to take place on the local campus Tuesday, September 17, when the Red Devils clash with Bingham, the grid season gives promise of much activity, according to announcement an-nouncement of Coach C. V. Led-dingham Led-dingham of Springville high. Other post-league games will be with Jordan at Springville Friday. September 20, and with Provo at Provo, Friday, September 27. The league schedule has not been drawn up, but it is the belief of the local coach that Springville will get three good league games at home. The sod field here is one of the best in the state, a real carpet of grass has been developed and will add much to the game. Here is a list of the lettermen Coach Leddingham is depending on to carry Springville on to victory: vic-tory: Arthur Hughes, captain, end; Howard Law, center; Clarence Spafford, end; Rex Packard, Ted Anthon, Reid Averett, LaMar Weight, Lyman Metcalf, backfield. This is the nucleus around which the team will be built. Other men who are showing promise are: Wilford Mower, Mark Jones, Reed Rigtrup, Berne Kindred', Kin-dred', Roe Thorn, Lewis Bird, Bill Stearn, Arthur Mendenhall, Wood-row Wood-row Hatfield, linemen; Tom Phillips, Phil-lips, Hugh Roylance, backfield. : j BIRTHS . . Mother and baby are doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shepherd announce the arrival of a baby daughter, born September 4, in this city. The parents are former residents res-idents of Goshen. |
