Show This weekend Springville Stake plans conference 1 1 Elder John Longden, an assistant as-sistant to the council of the Twelve Apostles of the LDS Church will preside at a quarterly quar-terly conference of the Springville Spring-ville Stake, Saturday and Sunday, Sun-day, November 16 and 17, at Springville Stake House. Accompanying Elder Longden Long-den will be Elders Henry G. Tempest, a member of the Priesthood Home Teaching Committee and Lorin L. Richards Rich-ards of the Missionary Committee. Com-mittee. General sessions of the conference con-ference will be conducted Sunday Sun-day at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. by John Longden, assistant to Council of Twelve Apostles, will be speaker at Springville Spring-ville Stake quarterly conference confer-ence this weekend. Stake President Leo A. Cran-dall. Cran-dall. Visitors are welcome to attend at-tend these general meetings. Elder Longden was manager of an electrical supply company, com-pany, and a Red Cross and a Community Chest offical when he was appointed to his church position in 1951. A native na-tive of England, he served the Church as a missionary and regional leader. Elders Tempest and Richards Rich-ards will address special meetings meet-ings for priesthood and missionary mis-sionary leaders, Saturday. There will be a special meeting meet-ing Saturday" frbm" 7:30' p:m.",' to 9 p.m., for all priesthood members except deacons and for all priesthood holder's wives. MIA meeting The Sunday evening meeting will be under the direction of the stake MIA featuring0 a Golden Bee jubilee program, under direction of Jeri Winger and Marian Jacobsen. Margaret Schreiner will give a prelude of Beehive songs to open the program, which will be narrated by Janet J. Packard. Pack-ard. The entire program has been arranged to honor the original Beehive girls and Beehive lead- ers in talks, music numbers and skits. Stake YWMIA president, Mrs. Gwen Cutler, will give a short address. The program will close with special awards made by the stake leaders. Alberta Hoover is directing the music; Myrle Schreiner is accompanist and drama director direct-or and Ronald Jensen and Ralph Jacobsen are in charge of lighting and special effects. |
