Show w Li in, ,..., ifc iJt I, i A George A. Weight, who will be 94 years old Saturday, April 28 Senior citizen reaches 94th year of birth George A. Weight, senior male citizen of Springville, will observe his 94th birthday birth-day at his home, 578 Canyon Drive, Saturday, April 28. Special observance of his birthday was held last Saturday Satur-day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Weight when a large number of family members mem-bers gathered to wish him a happy birthday and also see slides of pictures taken by family members. The party also honored two granddaughters, granddaugh-ters, Conda Weight, who has just returned from a mission to New Zealand, and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Kelly and family (Darlene Weight) of Marys-ville, Marys-ville, Calif., who were, visiting here, proximately 40 relatives rela-tives attended. Mr. Weight, a native of Springville, was born April 28, 1868 to Frederick and Elizabeth Eliza-beth Bocock Weight. He has lived long enough to see the era of oxcarts change to that of jet planes, and to watch man orbit the earth through the medium of television. He was married to Nora Childs Dec. 14, 1892 in the Manti Temple. They celebrated celebra-ted 65 years of married life before Mrs. Weight died in Feb. of 1958. They resided in Springville throughout their life and Mr. Weight still lives in the family home on the East Bench. He followed farming farm-ing and ranching during his earlier life prior to retiring at an advanced age. Descendants of Mr. Weight number close to 100. He has 39 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren grand-children and the following sons and daughters: Fred, Leo, La-Mar La-Mar and Woodrow of Springville, Spring-ville, Mrs. Carrell (Iva) Waters, Wa-ters, Provo; Mrs. Donald (Bessie) Stevens, Clearfield; Mrs. Eugene (Berniece) Wood and Ella Weight, also of Springville. He has no brothers or sisters living. |
