Following a nicely arranged luncheon, the group enjoyed visiting. Fourteen club mem-bers were in attendance. Assisting Mrs. Clyde as was Mrs. Marilyn Bown of Salt Lake City. Farm Bureau ladies plan outing May 7 Women of Springville and Mapleton are Invited to par-ticipate in the Utah County Farm Bureau Ladies Day tour and other activities Monday, May 7. Those planning to at-tend are asked to contact Mrs. Wallace Harmer by Thursday, May 3, for details. A bus will leave the Spring-ville post office at 8:25 a.m., on Monday, May 7, for a trip to Logan. The first stop will be at Brigham City, where a smor-gasbord lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Arriving at Logan at 1:30 p.m., sleeping qBarters will be assigned and a pro-gram will be given at 2:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served a visit to the Ogden Woolen Mills will be enjoyed en route home. at 4 p.m. and supper at 5 o'clock. At 8 p.m., there will be a musical comedy. Follow-ing breakfast at 8 p.m., Tues-day, a tour of campus will be held and refreshments served. Evans of Delta, who will be 80 April 29, will be honored with open house. Open house in Delta Sunday for Mrs. Evans Mrs. Lydia L. Evans, mother of Mrs. W. H. Whiting of 295 North Center, Mapleton, will observe her 80th birthday with an open house Sunday, April 29 from 1 to 5 p.m. at her home in Delta, Utah. She re-sides at 169 South 2nd West. All her friends and relatives are invited to call during the day. Mrs. Evans was born Nov. 1, 1882 in Oak City to George and Martha Turner Lovell. She married John D. Evans Jan-uary 26, 1903. He died May 14, 1957. She has lived at Oak City, Holden, Leamington and Delta. She has been an active member of the LDS church and community organizations all her life. The mother of six children, five -- of whom are living, Mrs. Evans has besides Mrs. Whit-ing, a son David of Cedar; George, Payson; Mrs. Buss (Zada) Shields, Delta; and Lloyd Evans, Spanish Fork. She has 14 grandchildren and 20 n. She requests no gifts. LaMar Weight, Mr. and Mrs. Wood-ro- w Weight and Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Weight of Spanish Fork were in Salt Lake City Thursday night where they joined Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ran-dall of Centerville and Miss Sandra Mitchell of Boutiful, in welcoming Mr. and Mrs. Dean Kelly (Darlene Weight) of Marysville, Calif. The group enjoyed a smor-gasbord dinner at Andy's and visited. Mr. and Mrs. Kelly and family came to Spring-ville and spent a few days, house guests at the home of Mrs. Kelly's father, the Fred Weights, prior to going back to California Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Kay dark visited in Bountiful over the weekend with her sister and brother-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Allan Engagement news this week links the names of charm-ing Miss Leah Mae Averett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evon Averett of this city and Richard Dale Allan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald N. Allan also of. Springville. They are planning a temple marriage, the date of which has not as yet been set. Both are graduates of Springville High School, class of 1954, and the LDS seminary. Leah Mae is a graduate of Brigham Young University and filled an LDS mission in Japan. She has taught two years in the Tooele School District. Mr. Allan spent four years in the U. S. Shepherd and his bride arrived in Springville Friday of last week, to visit while he was on leave from the Navy, with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shep-herd. They were accompanied by Mrs. Shepherd's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Porter Hurst of Santa Clara, Calif., who re-turned to their home Saturday afternoon. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shepherd, gave a family dinner for their son and his wife and in the afternoon, they, entertained at an Open House at which the newly-wed- s could greet relatives and close friends. Monday evening, the visi-tors were honored with a party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard L. Adams (Noami) Shepherd at Kamas attended also by Mr. and Mrs. Char-les Shepherd. Russell and his wife left Wednesday to return to his navy base at Moffitt Field, Calif. Mrs. Erva Childs has re-turned to her home from an enjoyable visit with a sister-in-la- Mrs. Edith Rothwell and other relatives and friends in Arco, Idaho. She also vis-ited over the weekend in Salt Lake with a daughter and son-in-la- Mr. and Mrs. John Eves and her son Carling there from Anaheim, Calif. Your Pharmacist ...
