Open house in Delta Sunday for Mrs. Evans Mrs. Lydia L. Evans, mother of Mrs. W. H. Whiting of 295 North Center, Mapleton, will observe her 80th birthday with an open house Sunday, April 29 from 1 to 5 p.m. at her home in Delta, Utah. She resides re-sides at 169 South 2nd West. All her friends and relatives are invited to call during the day. Mrs. Evans was born Nov. 1, 1882 in Oak City to George and Martha Turner Lovell. She married John D. Evans January Jan-uary 26, 1903. He died May 14, 1957. She has lived at Oak City, Holden, Leamington and Delta. She has been an active member of the LDS church and community organizations all her life. The mother of six children, five -of whom are living, Mrs. Evans has besides Mrs. Whiting, Whit-ing, a son David of Cedar; George, Payson; Mrs. Buss (Zada) Shields, Delta; and Lloyd Evans, Spanish Fork. She has 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She requests no gifts. |
