Show Federal aid to education . council topic Federal aid to education, was the subject discussed at the April meeting of the Legislative Leg-islative Council, held in Provo Thursday of last week with Mrs. Edwin Stein, president, conducting. Speaker in favor of federal aid was Dr. Lloyd Whitlock, who noted that schools had in the past received federal money mon-ey and had not been federally controlled and he believed this would continue. Dr.' John Bernhardt stressed a bold daring plan for planning plan-ning ahead without aid from the federal government and said he believed education would get more money spent without federal aid. Carl Clegg of the county civil defense, announced a proposed pro-posed program in which representatives rep-resentatives from clubs and other organizations could take a concentrated civil defense training course at Camp Williams Wil-liams for one day, the cost to be $1.50. Mrs. Russell Blackett, vice-president, vice-president, announced that in case delegates attending meetings meet-ings this year could not attend next, if their card and name were handed in along with the new delegate's name, a new card could be issued.
