Show Couple return from mission; welcome Sunday Home from a short Western States LDS mission are Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Mendenhall of Mapleton who will be given a welcome home in the Mapleton Second ward Sunday at 7 p.m. They report a delightful winter win-ter in the Artesia branch near the Texas border and the Pecos Pe-cos river, where the church membership is between 60 and 70 members. The Mendenhalls assisted in the operation and maintenance of the branch activities, Mr. Mendenhall being MIA president presi-dent and teaching in Sunday School and his wife, president of the Relief Society. They report an enjoyable time with fine weather most of the time, dust storms in March being the only drawback. draw-back. The soil is fertile and the crops lush, hay being a foot high this time of year, they report. Mr. and Mrs. Mendenhall climaxed cli-maxed their mission by attending at-tending general conference last week in Salt Lake City. |
