Connie is a graduate of Springville high school and LDS Seminary. She has been employed at Provo. Her husband, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Valdez of Provo, is a graduate of Lin-coln high school and has com-pleted two years of mechani-cal training at Central Utah Vocational School. He is now employed at Heckitt Engineer-ing plant at Geneva. Attending the bride as ma- - tron of honor will be a sister, Mrs. Beth Wilson of Ogden. Open house set Saturday night for Mr. and Mrs. Larkey Valdez Mr. and Mrs. Larkey Val-dez, nee Connie Diamond, will be honored at a lovely Garden Open House in Springville Canyon, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Diamond, par-ents of the bride, Saturday evening July 28. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 8 to 10 p.m. The young couple took wed-ding vows in a home ceremony, July 3, with Bishop Wm. J Pratt of the Sixth ward, of-ficiating. Later they went or a honeymoon to Moon Lake Miss Susan Sumsion will wed Stephen M. Snelson August 29 The Manti Temple will be the setting for the wedding of Miss Susan Sumsion and Stephen M. Snelson, the date being set for August 29. A wedding reception the evening of August 31 will honor the newlyweds in Kolob Stake House. The charming bride-ele- ct is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Ray Sumsion of Springville and the groom-to-b- e is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Russell Snelson. His grand-parents are Mr. and Mrs. Willard Pierce of Provo. A graduate of Springville Seminary and Springville High School, Miss Sumsion was active in Steno, Pep and Thespian Club afafirs. Mr. Snelson graduated from Provo High and LDS Seminary and was prominent in wrestling in high school. He is a sophomore at BYU, where he was voted the most outstanding ROTC cadet in his freshman year. He is pres-ently a pilot at the Provo Airport and a self-defen- instruc-tor with the Provo Police Force. J Jj san Sumsion, who is engaged to wed Stephen M. of Provo August 29, in the Manti Temple. Club group enjoys Hawaiian luau LCB club members and their husbands enjoyed a typical Hawaiian Luau Saturday even-ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Beck. The gar-den and patio were decorated to represent a Hawaiian garden complete with palm trees, pineapples and flowers. The guests arrived in moo-mo-and bright Hawaiian shirts. From Hawaiian decorat-ed tables, food typical of the islands was served buffet style and the guests were seated on pillows to eat. Following the luncheon, Bingo was played and White Elephants were brought as prizes. Eudora Jensen, who passed away here in May. Mrs. Jensen is also a sis-ter of Wayne Gull of Spring-ville. Funeral services for the three victims are being held today at 11 a.m., Walker Mort-uary in Spanish Fork, where Mr. and Mrs. Jensen formerly lived. They are survived by a 10 year old son, who is critical in a Tooele hospital as result of the accident; an 18-ye- ar old son Brent, and a married daughter Mrs. Joan Snow and two grandchildren. Mishap victims Joseph Milton Jensen, 43, and his wife- - Vera Ann Jensen, 40, who with a old son, lost their lives in an automo-bile accident at Stockton, Tooele county, Sunday night, is a brother and sister-in-la- w of Mrs. Ira (Marie) Rostron and Chriss Jensen of Springville. Mr. Jensen is a son of the late Medicare topic at club meet Dr. Robert H. Nightingale will be the speaker at Kiwanis this evening at 7 p.m. at the Kiwanis Fireplace. He will dis-cuss the current medicare pro-gram. Scheduled as toastmaster for the evening is Dr. W. G. r. Kolob stake M Men-Gleane- rs An In and out party for Kolob Stake M-M- and Glean-ers is planned for tonight at 7:30 p.m., at the Stake House patio. All are invited to bring their own steaks ready to fry plus 25c for other food and wear canyon attire. A pro-gram and games will add to the entertainment.
