Show Kolob M Men winners given trophies Twelfth ward's M Men ca-gers ca-gers tucked away the Kolob Stake title with a 50 to 48 victory over the Mapleton team in their playoff game last Friday night. The Game was a close one throughout with both teams playing hard ball right down to the wire. Twelfth will represent the stake in the forthcoming M-Men M-Men tournament which opens next Tuesday night here and at Payson. Sixth won over Second in a preliminary to the championship game. Following the title game I trophies were awarded under the direction of Wayne Haws, stake athletic director. Besides the title trophy the sportsmanship sportsman-ship thophy went to the Sec-; Sec-; ond ward; second place, Maple-: Maple-: ton, received a basketball for i placing second. Individual a-; a-; wards were given to the top : five players in the league: Phil i Bird and Vern Young of the j twelfth ward; Paul Cherring-I Cherring-I ton, Sixth; Marvin Fullmer, ; Second and Jan Felix, First. Junior M Men ; Junior M Men trophies were i also given under the direction ; of Don Tuttle. First won the championship trophy with Sec- ond getting the sportsmanship Top player awards went to Lanny Daybell and Roy Tam-ietti Tam-ietti of the First ward; Buddy Gardner and Joe Richins of the Eleventh; Ron Bird and Duane Alleman, Second; Ray Brown, Sixth; Fred Taylor Twelfth; Vaughn Bushman. Mapleton and Allan Hall, of second place and was so recog-Mapleton recog-Mapleton Second. Eleventh won nized. |
