Show Council plans survey of Kelly's Grove Kenneth Long, chairman of the city planning board, met with the city council Monday to urge that a contour survey map be made of Kelley's Grove area and the city owned property to the west of it. He stated that the planning board agreed this was an essential step in the future utilization of the park, and that only by such a map could the planning board, the recreation committee, commit-tee, or any other interested group be able to intelligently plan for the future of this important im-portant resource. A master plan would then be developed and followed in a step by step manner avoiding conflict and backtracking. Such a map would be helpful in deciding whether or not a golf course in this area would be feasible it was pointed out. On a motion mo-tion by Omar Hansen, the council concurred with the (Continued on Page 11, Col. 5) Council plans survey of Kelly's Grove (Continued from Page One.) suggestion, and agreed to find funds for such a survey at the earliest possible time. Later in the city council meeting, after further study was made of the present budget bud-get expenditures. , Dave Friel made a motion, which passed, authorizing the survey in the immediate future. It was estimated es-timated that the cost would be somewhere between $500 and $1000, and the city engineer, John Neff was to be consulted for a more accurate estimate. |
