The agreement agree-ment was approved and signed by the mayor. It was decided to give further study to the Utah county fire fighting code before it was adopted. A license approval was given Bill Kapp to operate Melody Inn for dining and dancing. The council decided to check title and other details of property pro-perty comprising 17-acres, east of the Evergreen cemetery, of fered for sale at $100 per acre by Leon Bird, and to seek recommendations re-commendations from the city attorney as to purchase. The Springville garage was awarded the bid for a Dodge truck at $2,190, to be used in the electric department. The council also approved the purchase of a 32-foot high ranger ran-ger ladder, bed and equipment to be placed in the truck at $10,472.83. At the recommendation of Councilman Omar Hansen, Attorney At-torney Robert Sumsion was asked to prepare an ordinance authorizing a Sinking fund for Capital Improvements, specifying specify-ing a Civic Center, the sales tax of cent is to be ear-marked after July 1, for that purpose. The first reading of the ordinance ordin-ance and a public hearing was planned for the 'near future. The Council approved an 8-weeks 8-weeks training course for the Firemen which there is a fee of $5. Those completing the course are to be reimbursed. The city's requirement for firemen is 48 hours training each year. |
