Show land and participated in the invasion of Germany during World War II, receiving the Bronze Star and Purple Heart awards. He was awarded the Silver Star for meritorious service in action in the Korean Kor-ean conflict. Patriotic talk planned by church group Lt. Col. Ray Cox will be guest speaker Tuesday evening eve-ning at a meeting of the Catamarans, Springville unit of the National Presbyterian Mariners Club. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the Springville Community Church and the theme chosen, will be Americanism. Col. Cox is executive officer of the 145th Artillery group, Utah National Guard. He is primary instructor in the National Na-tional Guard Freedom Academy Acad-emy which is a Guard-sponsored tour for high school senior students. He is also an instructor in-structor at the' National Guard Seminar, held to acquaint a selected group of Utah citizens with the communist menace. A Utah man, Col. Cox graduated grad-uated from Richfield High School and the Utah State University. He served in Eng- |
