Yvonne Ogilvie, 9-year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Ogilvie, is home from the Spanish Fork Hospital after af-ter an appendix operation. The members of her primary class met at her home where the lesson was presented under the direction of class leader Mrs. Norma Hatfield. Mrs. Lillian Binks of Provo formerly of Mapleton is recovering re-covering at home after surgery j in the Utah Valley Hospital last week. Elmer Bird, another former resident, is in the Utah Valley Hospital for treatment. A new baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Jackson at the Utah Valley Hospital last week.. Mother and baby are both reported doing nicely Cub Scouts of the Mapleton Second ward held their monthly month-ly pack meeting in the scout room recently. A pantomine play of "Sir Knight" was given by the boys. Awards were presented to them. Den mothers assisting were Mrs Phyllis Taylor, Mrs. Shirley Peterson, Mrs. Doris Thompson, Thomp-son, Mrs. Thelma Globe and Mrs. LaNea Bird. The two Mapleton wards are sponsoring a bake sale Saturday Satur-day at Arthur Harmer's market. mar-ket. All ward members are urged ur-ged to patronize this sale. Funds will be used for the building fund. Mr. and Mrs. Harold G'viden were weekend host'3 to several students from the BYU including in-cluding Miss Rebecca Stevens from Texas and four of her girl friends who enjoyed sleighing sleigh-ing Saturday on the Mapleton foothills and attended church :n Mapleton ward Sunday. Miss Stevens is a resident in the Texas mission where Harold served a LDS mission several years ago. The two Mapleton wards sponsored a film called "A othy Perrero and Mrs. Delia Lowe. Sleighing was followed by a chili supper and short business meeting at the Richmond home. Mrs. Ross Hall is home after a pleasant visit in California Calif-ornia with her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Verl Taylor and family. She was accompanied by another daughter daugh-ter and her husband Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ivory of Springville. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Jensen Jen-sen and their two sons Rxh-ard Rxh-ard and Steven of Wapello, Idaho, spent the weekend in Mapleton visiting with her mother Mrs. Olive Whiting and other relatives. Mrs. Cyril Thompson and five children are moving to Washington Wash-ington this week where Mrs. Thompson is stationed at Fort Lewis with the Utah National Guard. Mr. and Mrs. LaVar Christ-ensen Christ-ensen of California will move into the Thompson home. They plan to build a new home in the Mapleton Second ward area. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Johnson Mrs. Martha Houtz and Mrs. Jennie Tew together with Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Houtz of Provo, Pro-vo, attended the golden wedding wed-ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. John Matson of Salt Lake City last week. Lavell Bird left Monday Mon-day morning for Idaho where he will resume his work with the Crop Insurrance Agency. Mrs. Cleolla Evans and Mrs. Quentin Lowe were in charge of the March of Dimes collection col-lection in Mapleton last week. They represented the Fireman's Auxiliary and the Jaycee Wives, Wi-ves, Approximately $163 was collected during the campaign. Following the canvassing the women met at the home of Mrs; Quentin Lowe for supper. sup-per.
