(' I ' '' - ' Named to direct Ensign activities in Kolob Stake for the year is Ted Murray, while Janet Bird is named president of the stake Laurels. Young MIA groups name leaders Laurels and Ensigns of both the Springville and Kolob Stake MIA, the past week elected leaders to direct the activities o f these young groups for the coming year. l)avid Aldred, son of Mr. and - Mrs. Fred Aldred, 8th ward and Lynne Robertson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. La-Monte La-Monte Robertson, 9th, were named presidents in Springville Spring-ville Stake, while Ted Murray, Mur-ray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max L. Murray and Janet Bird, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Bird, were elected in Kolob Stake. The voting in each stake climaxed a fun evening highlighted high-lighted by skits presented by the candidates and in Springville Spring-ville stake, a banquet and refreshments re-freshments and a dance in Kolob. JoAnn Duncan and Don Roy-lance Roy-lance were retiring officers of the Springville stake and each was presented with a gift of appreciation from their stake leaders, Beth Johnson and J. Reed Bird, under whose direction direc-tion the event was held. Candidates for office from the wards included: Third ward, Kathleen McKenzie, Richard Harrington; 4th, Judy Tipton, Grant Roylance; 5th, Lorna Sanford; Seventh, Pat Ostler, Dick Stevenson; 8th, Connie Hatfield, David Allred; 9th, Lynn Robertson, Sam Metcalf; 10th, Lynn Lauritzen, Larry Litster. Ward leaders who assisted with planning and preparation of the banquet were, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Tipton, LaRee Bige-low, Bige-low, Evelyn Sorenson, Verl Childs, Glenna Bird, Glen Ruff, Helen Haymond, DeLora Lou Blanchard, Norman Loback. Candidates 'for office of Laurel Lau-rel leader in the Kolob Stake were: Karen Nielson, 1st; Pat Denney, 2nd; Charlene Lewis, 6th; Bonna Jackman, 11th; Sharon Ellis, Mapleton 2nd; Linda Ogilvie, Mapleton; Janet Bird, 12th. Marilyn Snelson acted as chairman on arrangements assisted as-sisted by the ward presidents, Nancy Strong, Marilyn Barker, Charlotte Martin, Kathleen Bennett, Judy Brown, Mary Brown, Charlotte Edmunds and Clair Duncan and Stake leader Melva Smith. |
