Show Music Student Graduates with Honors in East Rochester, N. Y., June 8 David J. Dalton of Springville, Utah, is one of 1142 students who received degrees at the 109th annual commencement of the University of Rochester on Sunday, June 7. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver H. Dalton, 524 So. 1st E., he studied violin at the University's Univer-sity's Eastman School of Music, Mu-sic, receiving a bachelor of music mu-sic degree, with distinction. A 1952 graduate of Springville Spring-ville high school, he attended Brigham Young Universiy for two years before transferring to Eastman. A member of the Rochester Philharmonic, he has presented recitals during- his senior vear in violin and viola. He is also a member of the Eastman Philharmonia, the players of which are selected from more advanced students. David played successful jury for string faculty and was nominated for Performer's Certificate Cer-tificate during the past year and was the recipient of a full tuition fellowship for work on his Masters amounting to $1000. He has served as president of the Eastman German club and has also worked in various var-ious LDS church capacities in the east. : 5 ' a - !l hj David J.
