OCR Text	Show Czar as Composer of Music I For the last 18 months tho czar has been virtually a prisoner in one or his own palaces and in the intervals I of state work ho has solaced himself with composing music and writing verso His poetry Is melodious and carefully polished and his music is melancholy and Inspired by a spirit of fatalism Somo three years ago some of the czars poems vre pjlillshcc under tho pseqdonym of Olaf with music by his cousin the Grand Duko DAssla but he has himself set some of his verses to music with a considerable consider-able amount of taste and a real knowl edge of harmony Nicholas II has a fine collection of violins of which he Is very proud
