Show Lare Prizes Announced for Flying Craft LONDON, Sept. CO. (By the Associated As-sociated Press.) Prizes aggregating aggre-gating S340.000 -will be offered for efficiency in flying craft to be shown in the aircraft safety competition compe-tition -which the government will hold March 1 nest-. All entrants must be British. The object is to ascertain the best types of airplanes in which it will be safe to travel and which, in particular will be capable of rising from aud alighting iu a small space. Two types of machines will be entered en-tered small machines with a carrying carry-ing capacity of two, and large machines ma-chines with a carrying capacity of fifteen, exclusive of crew. Tha first price for the small machine ma-chine will be 550.000: second. $20.-000; $20.-000; third, flO.000. First prize for the large machine will be $100,000; second. SiO.000: third. $20,000. Entries' En-tries' are to close December SI next. Another competition will be to choose the best type of float seaplanes sea-planes or boat seaplanes iu which it will be safe to travel and which will rise from land as well as water. Prizes are: First, SoO.OOO; second. S20.000. and third. $10,000. |
