License fees for employment agencies in Salt Lake will be raised from 5100 to 1200 per year if the tentative ordinance drafted yesterday at a meeting of the committee appointed by the state industrial indus-trial commission to deal with the matter mat-ter concerning the licensing of agencies throughout the state is passed by the city commission. The committee was composed of City Attorney V. H. Folland, William Knerr of the state industrial commission, Herbert Her-bert Van Dam, assistant attorney pen-era!: pen-era!: AW R. Strock of the St rock Kmploy-nient Kmploy-nient acen"y and Y. H. Reeder. Jr., city attorney of Ofrden. Tiie ordinance, which it is proposed to present to both the city commission of Salt Lak-i and Oden for consideration, provides for the licensing of the agencies i to conform with the state industrial com- j mission ruling and provides for the revo- cation of the license if the agency is not licensed by the industrial commission. The commission has ruled that the ' agencies should provide the tentative employee with all the information concerning con-cerning the work he is to do. the place he will go for the work, how he shall live, whether or not the company for whom he will work is managing the boa rding pla r-e or the rooming house where he will live, and other information which will give him a clear idea of the conditions with which he will meet. |
