Show ENSIGN STEPHEN KERR HOME ON FURLOUGH 1 Ensign Stephen L. Kerr of the navy flying corps arrived In Salt Lake yesterday yester-day to spend a brief furlough with his mother, Mrs. A. S. Wllltt. Knslgn Kerr brings with him a letter of commendation commenda-tion from Assistant Secretary' of the Navy Franklin I). Roosevelt, for his j heroic work in saving the life of a companion com-panion pilot when the two crashed Into the harbor at San Diego. With his own right arm broken by the fall which demollMhed the plane, Knslgn Kerr got his pilot, who was drowning, far enough out of the water to save hiH life unil the rescue boat could come. Since that time Kerr has been In the nnvy hospital at San Llego having his arm treated. Ho expects to regain full use of it within three months, when he expects to secure bis release from the navy.
