J Officials Hold That if Fiume Is Relinquished, Revolt Will Follow as Result.! COPENHAGEN. Sept. 25. (By the Associated Press.) American "Marines landed from a torpedo boat destroyer to compel the Italians Ital-ians to evacuate Trau, Dalniatia, according to a dispatch received here from Spalato, a short distance east of Trau. The dispatch adds that the Italians Ital-ians left after the inhabitants fired on them and that Jugo-Slav troops took over the town from the Americans. Amer-icans. TARlS. Sepi. 25. Apparently in emulation emu-lation of Captain Gabriele D'Annunzio. whose dramatic seizure of Fiume centered- the attention of the world on the eastern littoral of the -Adriatic, other Italian leaders are reported to be advancing ad-vancing on Spalato. Sahenico and Trau, important towns along the coast which j have been under the control of Jugo-Slav j forces. Peace conference circles are j plainly concerned over the situation, j which seems to have became quite grave. I Belgrade advices declare Italian sol- j diers have overpowered a small Jugo- I Slav force at Togulre and have entered the town. Further south there appear also to be disorders, reports from Rome Indicating there Is a virtual reign of terror ter-ror at Racusa. a Dalmatian town close to the frontier of Montenegro. Would Restore Nicholas. In addition there are rumors that the Italians plans to restore King Nichols to the Montenegrin throne, from which he was ousted by action of the national assembly last April. This action h the rational assembly has never been recognized rec-ognized bv the royal Montenegrin government, govern-ment, which has maintained its headquarters head-quarters near Paris for several months. King Nicholas is the father of Queen ' Helena of Italy. So far as known definitely no answer to proposals made by Italy relative to Fin me has been received from President Wilson, although it is intimated in unofficial un-official Italian circles that it has arrived. There is a disposition on the part of( the Italians to reject any proposition looking to a compromise, the claim being made that the storm throughout their country can be calmed onlv by giving Flume to Italy. Allies Are Blamed. The crisis through which Italy is passing pass-ing is imputed io the great powers by General Giuseppi (Pepptnol Garibaldi, in an interview printed in the Pel it Pari-Fien Pari-Fien this morning. He reproaches, them for not having given Italy all that was promised in t:ie treaty of Ixmdon and declares de-clares it to be the intention of the Italian Ital-ian people to keep Fiume "even at the price of another war." "It depends on France and England." he says, "whose populations are w ith Italv in tie Fiume affair.
