Hut all tho appreciation was not confined to tho 4500 or moro visitors who came. Theru was a mutuality of appreciation and understanding. Salt Lako reciprocated. recipro-cated. l'robablv one of . the most interesting interest-ing incidents of Salt Lake's appreciation apprecia-tion of the Hotarians happened to Mrs. tdieslev U. l'crry, wife of the international in-ternational secretary.' She was in the lobbv of the convention headquarters hotel Saturday a II cruoou after the close of the convention when a stranger approached bringing flowers. 1 lie saw that. Mrs. I'crrv was wearing a Eotarian guest badge jnd introduced intro-duced himself as a Mormon. Then he said that lie hail seen much of the Hotarians Ho-tarians during their visit and had read of them as well. He expressed his appreciation of .tho calibre of Rotarians Rota-rians and the quality of Rotary and asked that he might present the flowers flow-ers as a token of his sentiments towards to-wards Rotary. He told Mrs. l'crry that he had wauled to show in some manner that the coming of R-otary, with its high ideals of ser ice, had tncatil much to him, and' that the only wav in which he could do this was to go home, pick some flowers from his "ardcu aud present them to a liotarv Fadv. Mrs. l'crry ueecpled the flowers with thanks on behalf of all the Kotarilms and I heir w ives and was much touched bv the incident of Salt Lake's warmth of I'ecling towards tho association. |
