An average price of 5660 was paid for forty-five forty-five pure bred Scotch Shorthorn cows arid J heifers and two registered Scotch Short- ; horn heifers sold here today at the first ! auction sale of animals of this type oS ! fered in Idaho. j The highest price for an individual was j paid by Walter Jones of Filer, for Kath- leen's Goods, a 6-year-old cow. Under i the terms of the sale the owners, C. A. McMaster & Son, agreed to pay from 20 to 50 cents for the crop of calves at twelve ! months old. Every bank in the county indorsed the sale as a means of putting high-priced irrigated land to profitable use and extended credit for the purchase of cattle. |
