Show THOMPSON SMELTER TO RESUME ACTIVITY The announcement has just been made that the SOO-ton smelter in Mason valley is to resume operations early next soring, says the Tonopah Daily Times. One of the prime movers behind the resumption of the Thompson smelter is the Candelaria Mines corporation, which has unlimited means to back the recommendations recom-mendations of its engineers, one of which Is to smelt the low-grade carbonate and oxide ores existing in enormous tonnage in the old Candelaria mines, and to do this requires cheap transportation and smelting facilities. These requisites have been discovered In the starting and operation op-eration of the old Thompson smelter, which Is now assured. Not only will the resumption of the reduction re-duction of ores at Thompson help Candelaria, Cande-laria, but the entire section of southern Nevada, and especially the Silverpah-Lone Mountain district will be given the greatest great-est assistance the many operators In that promising country could possibly desire. |
