Forest green has been adopted as the official color of the American Red Cross field uniforms, instead of light gray. The change was decided upon a year ago, but the order was withheld so that the large quantity of light gray cloth on hand might be used up. :jc Q. The treasury department says that if three-fU ths or more of a mutilated bill is presented it will be redeemed at its face value. If more than two-fifths and less than three-fifths are presented, it will be redeemed at one-half of the face value. Nothing is paid for pieces of less than two fifths. Q. One of the simplest and most satisfactory sat-isfactory antifreeze mixtures tor automobile auto-mobile radiators is water and denatured alcohol. A mixture of one-fourth alcohol alco-hol and three-fourths water will endure cold to 10 degrees below. Cold resistance resist-ance may be further increased by increasing in-creasing the percentage of alcohol. One of the chief advantages-In using alcohol is that it in no way acts upon the metal of the radiator, as do some other non-freeze non-freeze mixtures. Q.
