Show ere came out of the game against Idaho in great style, and every man on the 'tsquad will be In tip-top shape for t he coming battle. The men proved that , Utah possessed an aggregation of fool- ' ball warriors who could come back, after being def'-ated by Colorado Agricultural college just a week ago. The hi 11 toppers outplayed their Northwestern North-western rivals in every department of the game last Saturday, and only once during dur-ing the entire game did Idaho get within twenty yards of the red- and white goal line. This time they were held for four downs and Utah punted out of the only dangerous hole that she was tn during the entire contest. Tho Utah line broke up Idaho's offense, Thompson, all-northwestern halfback, being the only man to gain any ground against the crimson line. Had the Utah eleven shown the same kind of fight in the recent battle in Colorado, Colo-rado, there would still be a clean slate hanging in Tommy Fitzpatrick's room at the present time. But the fellows are not discouraged, and are out to cop the remaining four games on their schedule. The Utah Aggies are laying idle on the coming Saturday, and : several of them will probably he down to watch the Utah men in action, in order to get some dope for the coming Thanksgiving day fete. Aggie Teams in Lead. As a result of Saturday's 1-1 to 14 tie between the University of Colorado and the Colorado College Tigers at Boulder, the Colorado Aggies and Utah Agffies are now in the lead for tlie conference honors. hon-ors. The Colorado team has won two games, whereas the Utah eleven has played in and won but one game. The game at Boulder would seem to Indicate that the University of Colorado team can be relied upon to give their future fu-ture opponents some mighty good scraps. Although they were lucky, to some extent, ex-tent, in holding the Springs eleven to a tie. they making both of their touchdowns on C. C. fumbles, still their line held so well that the Tigers were forced to resort to an overhead attack before they could score. On this coming Saturday the Tigers will clash with the School of Mines at Colorado Springs. A win for tlie Tigers would certainly help to tighten up the , rii ce in the conference, for it would de-! de-! pose the Aggies as the leaders and give ! the two Utah elevens much better chances of cleaning up in this section. MONTANA ELEVEN ILL STOP OVER Utah's Opponents for Saturday Satur-day to Hold Workouts Here During Week. Tho Montana State college foottiall team, which will play the University of Utah eleven here Saturday afternoon, worked out yesterday at the East Hl?;h. The Montana team decided to lay over in Salt I.Rke this week, Instead of mailing mail-ing the trip to Oo.man, and then mak-' mak-' inc another round trip to Utah and baj.'-k: The Montanana played the Logan Asgl'es Saturday and were defeated by the score of 1! to' 0. Saturday's game will Rive local fans ajl estimate of the strength of Dick Rocn-nev'a Rocn-nev'a team at Logan, and they can then make up their mlnda as to which one ol the Thanksgiving contenders shouVI emerge victorious. Tt Is also quite prci-uNe prci-uNe that the game November 2? w'Sll have (inilc an Important bearing on thf outcome of the Hooky Mountain Conference Confer-ence race. fcrnm present Indications the same w'ea-tlu-r conditions will prevail here Satun-day Satun-day as did at Logan last week. Still, tbe IochI eleven will be just about as accustomed accus-tomed to tbe mud and slush as the Moi?-lanans. Moi?-lanans. for the Utah and Idaho game at the 2Mb was pla ed on anything but an ideal field. The Crimsons showed up un-, usuallv well on the wet field, and workeot a number of trick plays to good advantage. advan-tage. Tbe Montana men put up a great battle bat-tle against tbe Aggies, and came out of tlie scrape with no injuries to hamper their chances for a victory against the., r'rimsonltes on Saturday. The Northerners Northern-ers have a good offensive team as well as defensive. Their backs gained first, downs nlno times during tlie Aggie game, which Is a good record for a losing team on such a field as they played on at I.ogan. The powerful Aggie offense wa:t he'd to three scores, which speaks for Itself It-self In commenting upon the strength ol" the Montana line. Coach Tommy Fitzpatrick's east pencil- |
