Show To Wed in Temple and Receive at Home THE marriage of Miss Lois Dalton and Munn Q. Cannon will take place this morning in the Salt Lake temple. A reception will follow this evening eve-ning at the home of the bride. 867 Ninth East street. Mrs. A. Patterson will be matron of honor. Miss Audrey Dalton and Miss Almee Whitney will be bridesmaids. Matt Cowley will be best man. Mrs. J. M. Dalton and Mrs. Patterson Patter-son entertained at tea Sunoay afternoon at the Dalton home in honor of Miss Dalton. A basket of violets, with a large bow of yellow maline on the handle and a kewple dressed in yelllow on top, was the centerpiece for the tea table. Smaller baskets of violets were at the corners of the table. A Medeira cover was over yellow. Presiding at the tea table was Mrs. W. H. Tobin. Assisting in serving were Miss Audrey Dalton, Miss Almie Whltnev and Miss Marguerite Shea. About seventy-five seventy-five guests called during the afternoon. A large card party was given last night by the Young '.adic c- i t, ji e Cathedral of the Madeleiene at the Ladles' Literary club house. The proceeds pro-ceeds will be devoted to charity. The decorations were in 'Halloween ideas. Supper was served at the card tables following the games. Homemade candy sold during the evening added to the receipts. A fortune-telling booth also proved a source of Income, as well as merriment. Sixty-eight tables were arranged for cards. The committee on arrangements Included In-cluded Miss Marguerite Scott, chairman; Miss Katherine Driscoll. Miss Margaret McDonough, Miss Ann Travers, Miss Margaret Lecuyer and Miss Henrietta Kllleen. The candy booth was in charge of Miss Agnes Bowen. The Sans Souci club was entertained last night by Miss Pauline Hagman, 228 North Second West street. Miss Gertrude Oeojepa" a"d Miss Mary Louise Hays will entertain at a matinee party followed by tea at the Hotel Utah this afternoon in honor of Miss Julia Stephens, a fall bride. Mis Thelma Taylor wil entertain ver club this evening at her home, 232 East Second South street. The music section of the Ladies' Literary Lit-erary club will meet this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The following program will be given: S'olos, "Joy of the Morning," by Harriett Ware, and "Japanese Love Song," by Kroeger, sung by Mrs. Theodore Theo-dore Best, with Mrs. P. O. The preliminary law section of the club will meet at 1:45 o'clock. Mrs. E. Helistrom will entertain at a Kensington this afternoon from 2 until 5 o'clock at her home on Highland Drive. The Welfare club will meet this evening eve-ning at 8 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Jacob Rumel, 150 McClelland avenue. Mrs. Russell Horton will give a paper on "How Women Individually Can fight the High Cost of Living." Miss Leah P. Jennings will give help in cutting patterns for a sewing class at Civic Center this morning from 10 until 12 o'clock.' The woman's auxiliary of the Third Presbyterian church wil meet this afternoon after-noon at 2 o'clock at the church. The Seekers' Literarv club will meet this afternoon at Civic Center on Regent street. Luncheon will be served at 1:30 o'clock. Mrs. A. N. Minear and Mrs. W. M. Havenor will be hostesses. Mrs. Jacob Rumel will review "The Scarlet Letter," and a general discussion will follow. Reynolds circle. Ladies of tho Grand Army of the Republic, will meet this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the I. O. O. F. hall. Following a public welfare meeting at tho Liberty Park Methodist church Wednesday evening, a Hallowe'en celebration cele-bration will take place. A social meet-ng meet-ng will follow the welfare meeting each week. The committee in charge until January 1 includes Mrs. G. D. Kent, Mrs. C. A. Root and Mrs. Glenn Walker. The program will be varied each time. Clarence Naylor, Evert Zwick. Lawrence Law-rence Naylor. and Everett Roberts will entertain at a dancing party Fridav evening, eve-ning, November 7, at the Ladies' 'Literary 'Liter-ary club. The Ladles' auxiliary of the Brotherhood Brother-hood of Locomotive Engineers will have a social meeting at the K. of P. hall Wednesday evening. All locomotive engineers engi-neers and their families are invited. I Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Miss Mary Endres of San Francisco is the gi-est of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Endres. , Miss Muriel Burton has returned from Loe Angeles, after a three months' visit to her aunt, Mrs. Frank Lovell. formerly Miss Hattie Abbott of Salt Lake, who accompanied her on her return. |
