Show BLACKHANDER GIRLS, IS THE ALLEGATION Special to The Tribune. PROVO, March 7. Juvenile Judge C. M. Nielsen came to Provo today and in the list of cases presented for his attention found a number of girls accused ac-cused of being "black banders." The girls, It Is said, range in age from If to 16 years. According to the ofrirers the society is known as the "Black Hand society." In" their investigations the juvenile court officers found that the girls had been holding secret meetings in a back room in the home of one of the members, and that their program of active lawlessness law-lessness includes the firing of at least three dwelling houses in Provo. They had also planned a "blackmail" campaign against a number of citizens, the officers declare. Several cases of adult delinquency wore handled by the court today. Thse consisted mainly of young men and merchants mer-chants from Provo Bench, who are s:iid to havo furnished juveniles with tobacco. |
